- 2019 Serie Impar Sercialinho (Bairrada): Apples to apples, there’s a ton of amazing apple action going on here. $NA A-
- 2014 Casa Ferreirinha Reserva Especial (Douro): The encapsulation—and delivery—of pretty much all the promises that a fine Douro still red can make. $350 A
- Sandeman 20 Year Old Tawny Porto (Portugal): Intense, yet comfortable, like a big fireplace fire on a cold night. $50 A-
- 2022 Mateus The Original Rose (Portugal): Crushed red berries and a lot of zesty fun. $10 B-
- 2020 Masciarelli Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva (Abruzzo): Complex, and fascinating, yet never really taxing. $58 A-
- 2019 Masciarelli Marina Cvetic Rosso Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva (Abruzzo): Smoky, sexy, sultry, and seductive with its ample red fruits. $35 A-
- 2022 Mathis Rose de Grenache (Sonoma Valley): Wild red berries, wild herbs, and wildly tasty. $25 B+
- 2021 Dry Creek Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel (Sonoma County): Those old vines still love to party, apparently. $45 A-
- 2015 Ryder Estate Merlot (Central Coast): Plummy, smooth, and quite alive! $15 B
- 2019 Fowles Wine ‘Farm to Table’ Cabernet Sauvignon (Victoria): Plump, friendly, and not holding back on the structure. $17 B
