- 06 Chateau Fuisse Le Clos (Pouilly-Fuisse): Rich & oaky Chard. Set your alarm, you may need it to wake you up when the finish finally stops! #
- 05 Nicolas Potel Volnay Vieilles Vignes (Volnay): Berry cobbler w/ bacon. A finish so smooth, you could slip on it. But it sure ain’t free. #
- 05 JJ Vincent Pouilly Fuisse “Marie Antoinette” (Pouilly-Fuisse): Heavy on the minerality, big on acidty, but light on the fruit & finish. #
- 06 Undurraga Founder’s Carmenere (Colchagua): Big time dark-red fruits & a heap of green pepper. It’s smooth now, but will it integrate? #
- 03 Hermann J. Wiemer Ice Wine (Finger Lakes, NY): Honey, apricot, & glycerin-smooth with bracing acidity. I heart New York. #
- 07 Pio Cesare Dolcetto d’Alba (Piedmont): candied fruit & black cherry, with floral & spice notes. Interesting if not very focused. #
- 05 Simi Landslide Cabernet Sauvignon (Alexander Valley): More like “Oakslide” with this much wood. Bloated & underwhelming for the price. #

You reviewed 'BAREFOOT CHAMPAGNE'? And in a positive light, no less? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Is it April 1st? Did I pass out on the sofa again and miss all of March?
Is this a new 'recession wines' series you've started? What's next? Franzia White Zinfandel (refreshingly pink, medium sweet, perfect for late spring barbeque!), Paul Masson Chablis (Sure, they call it Chablis, even though it's from California and made from Thompson Seedless grapes, but hey, if your parents looked cool drinking it 20 years ago, you will, too!), & Carlo Rossi Hearty Burgundy (It isn't from Burgundy, and it isn't Hearty, but I got a free 4 litre box of the stuff. If you put it in a Reidel glass and hold your nose, gosh dang-it it ain't half bad!).
I have to hope this is, as they say, Rock Bottom. Unless Boone's Farm offers you a sponsorship deal?
Well, I tried it, I thought it was better than some prosecco I've had that costs more. Just to be clear, no wineries sponsor me so the reviews are as objective as I can make them…
