On May 23rd, if you’re going to be in or near Santa Rosa, then you have a chance to taste some awesome juice and maybe even meet uber-rocker, kick-ass bassist and wine brand owner Les Claypool.
All for free, of course, if you win this week’s giveaway!
Here’s the skinny:
- Couple Hillary and Justin Lattanzio own a custom crush facility in Santa Rosa called Vinify Wine Services, and on May 23rd they’re throwing their annual Open House / Exclusive Tasting event from 1PM – 4:30PM.
- Tickets are $20 a head but I will be selecting a lucky winner from the commentors on this here post to get in on the VIP list for free.
Read on for more deats…
According to Hillary:
“Our winemakers have full access to the facility and we don’t interfere with their magic…in a large part, this is what makes us unique and why we have a waiting list of other wineries who want to join our collective. This year will mark our 4th harvest. Many of our winemakers are established brands while others are hot up and comers. Either way, this is a passion and a business for them, not a hobby.”
I can dig that.
Now, the reason that you could possibly meet Les is that his winery is among the list of producers who use Vinify and will be participating in the tasting event. Other participants include friends-of-the-Dude Olson Ogden Wines; full list is below:
* Baker Lane
* Bevan Cellars
* Bjornstad Cellars
* Lattanzio Winery
* Pfendler Vineyards
* Sojourn Cellars
* Westerhold Family Vineyards
* Calluna Vineyard
* Jemrose Vineyard
* Barbed Oak Vineyards
* Claypool Cellars
* Desmond Wines
* Frostwatch Vineyard and Winery
* Olson Ogden Wines
* Gracianna Winery
To win, leave a comment on this post and tell us about some of your favorite wines that aren’t made at producer-owned facilities (i.e., either “garage wines” or wine brands that go custom-crush). In exactly one week, I will randomly pick a winner from the comments, using a super-secret process involving my dog.
Travel expenses aren’t included, of course (who do you think I am, Robert Parker?), so you’ll need to be local or planning on being in the area, blah-blah-blah.
Cheers – and good luck!
